THE KITE RUNNER

I would like to write about this book, because it is the last book I have read and it is so impressive that I can forget any event of it. The writer of this book is Khaled Hosseini and it is his first novel, published in 2003. This book tells the story of two young boys, Amir and Hassan. While Amir is a rich boy, Hassan is a servant’s son and they work for Amir’s family. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the rise of the Taliban regime. I think it is a good example of the racism. Hassan is from a different race in Afghanistan and this race isn’t liked and people are cruel against them. In my opinion, racism is a problem of underdeveloped countries. I don’t mean being poor with the word of ‘underdeveloped’, on the contrary, some rich countries also have racism problem, so I want to mean those countries which can’t not think that people are born without race. The thing which gives them a race is their environment and so, it isn’t their fault. This book tells this topic very nice, because both of the young boys are from different races but, actually they are siblings even though they don’t know it. It shows that their fault is not being able to choose people who raise them.

People like this book very much, and so, it was adapted into a film of the same name in, 2007. I haven’t watched the film version, but I think it is a good work. I read something that the writer also publishes this book’s second version. I don’t know whether I will read or not. I like its first version very much. It is so absorbing that you shouldn’t think anything when you read it. I strongly recommend you to read it, but I think second version of the books has aim to get money and so sometimes, some books can lose their quality.
